Applicants were required to submit both a visual and written response to the Angelica Mesiti’s video instillation The Calling.

Harry was selected as one of two successful applicants from Tasmania. Only 16 scholarships are offered nationally.

The scholarship includes: The opportunity to experience the National Gallery of Australia’s dynamic environment and to meet and workshop with the visual arts professionals who work there, flights, four-star accommodation, all meals including a celebratory dinner, free membership to the National Gallery of Australia in 2018 and free entry to ‘Hyper Real’ summer exhibition.

Harry’s Art teacher, Mr Matthew Stolp, said that as a former Canberra resident he could attest to how inspiring the NGA will be for Harry.
