Guilford Young College has four past and current students on pages 1 and 3 of today’s Mercury, while another former student, Matt Bevilacqua is one of the young talents of the ironman arena.

page 1 … Scott Bowden (GYC 2013), already in Rio for mountain biking, is now a member of the road cycling team which has its competition tomorrow night our time.  He is pictured on the left with his new team mates.  Mercury article.

Scott Bowden

page 3 … budding cricketers Liam Devlin, Jack White and Declan Waddington with Peter Siddle. Awesome company!  They were chosen for the photo because as junior cricketers they scored centuries in the past season.

Liam Devlin, who captained the GYC Hobart team to victory in the SATIS cricket season earlier in the year, is 4th from the left (in the back row) and Jack White is in front of him and next to Peter Siddle. Declan Waddington who made the fastest, highest score for either GYC team (he played for Glenorchy) is far right.

IN THE NEWS A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, was Matt Bevilacqua (GYC 2010)  who has defended his Molokai to Oahu paddleboard title, winning the gruelling race in record time in Hawaii.   Mercury article
