Contemplating the Jewish Face of Christ. Fr Michael Tate, Vicar General, Archdiocese of Hobart, will take various features of Jesus’ face – ears, eyes, nose, throat, lips – and meditate on passages from the Gospels which depend on those features. This will be the second of three talks. The last session will be Tuesday 6 March.

This is a night for all students enrolled in VET through the Southern Tasmanian Catholic Colleges Trade Training Centre (STCCTTS) including GYC. The evening will provide details of courses and work placements; participants will meet the VET teachers and there will be an opportunity to view the Trade Training Centre facilities where most students will have the opportunity to complete their certificates. (The STCCTTC is the national winner of the Schools Pathway to VET Award 2017.)

National Schools Constitutional Convention

Approx 120 students from government, independent and Catholic schools from across Australia, covering metropolitan and country areas attend the National Schools Constitutional Convention every year in Canberra. The Convention seeks to promote understanding and informed discussion among young Australians about the Australian Constitution and system of government. This year’s topic is:  ‘Section 44: is it still relevant in modern Australia?’ The project is managed by National Curriculum Services in collaboration with the Australian Curriculum Studies Association.
