Community Outreach

Guilford Young College is an outward looking community that fosters generosity of spirit and service to others. Each Tutor group undertakes to complete a Community Outreach Activity during the year. Our community has very strong ties to St Vincent de Paul. Each campus has a thriving conference that is responsible for a large number of outreach activities including: Soup Making for Louis Van, Buddy Days, Bonza Camps, Bethlehem House Projects, Saturday Arvos, Button Selling, Buddy Camps, the Annual Wood Chop, the Annual Winter Blanket and Clothes Drive and Christmas Hampers.

Guilford Young College also supports the great work of Edmund Rice through Eddie Rice camps and activities and has just signed on as a Registered Operating group for Completion of the internationally recognised Duke of Edinburgh Award in Australia.

Justice Action Day is a special initiative of Guilford Young College that attracts interest from schools, politicians and media from around Tasmania. Justice Action Day 2008 will be held on 3 September and feature a keynote address by Father Frank Brennan.
