Stephen Lunn, back at GYC after carrying the baton.

At least three members of our GYC community have been involved with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay as the baton made its way around Hobart today.

They are Year 11 student Jack Direen, current staff member Stephen Lunn and former staff member and current parent Anne Henderson (Steele).

Each carried the baton in the Clarence segment of its journey.

Today’s baton relay started in Clarence this morning before moving to Glenorchy. Then the baton was taken by boat to the Hobart Yacht Club ahead of its journey around Battery Point, Sandy Bay and the Hobart CBD.

The Queen’s Baton Relay  is the prelude to the Commonwealth Games which will be held on the Gold Coat from 4-15 April 2018.
