The GYC musical for 2016, Footloose, is about to burst on to the stage – tomorrow night!

It had its first full run on the Don Bosco Creative Arts Centre stage with the band on Saturday afternoon. It was a thoroughly entertaining, high energy, toe-tapping experience – and that was only the first dress rehearsal.  Director Chelle Burtt, choreographer Emma Stone and a number of other production technicians are pulling together a wonderful show.

The amazing young GYC talent is being brilliantly supported by an eight-piece band under the direction of Mr Matthew Ives. More than 30 GYC students will be on stage and a host more are involved through the band (drummer Josh Cannan), stage crew, make-up, hair, hospitality and front-of-house.

According to Ms Burtt, “These young people are amazing.”

She should know, but come and see for yourself.  Tickets are selling fast but seats are available each performance: 7:30pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Adults $25, concession $20, group of five or more $15 per ticket – online, through Trybooking, by phoning the Glenorchy Campus 6238 4350 or at the door on the night.

Without giving anything away (there are some wonderful surprises throughout the show), here are a few photos from Saturday.
